American Pie 2 Review

American Pie 2 is the sequel to American Pie. It picks up 1 year after the conclusion of the first film after the teenagers have finished their first year of college and return home for the summer.

They look forward to a summer of partying, but the first party at Stiflers house is busted by police. Needing somewhere to party, Kevin calls his older brother for advice. His brother tells him to rent a lake house that he himself had rented years earlier with his friends when he was the same age as Kevin. He tells Kevin that at the end of the summer, he will see the big picture. So Kevin, Jim, Stifler, Paul and Chris head out to the lake to spend the summer there. They plan to have a non-stop party for 3 months.

Each character has their own little storyline. Jim prepares for Nadia's arrival and seek help from Michelle, Kevin sees Vicky for the first time in a year and realises he still loves her, Chris is forced to cope with spending the summer away from his girlfriend, Paul tries to find a girl who can live up to his expectations and Stifler continues to be Stifler. At the end of the summer Kevin accepts that he can't have a future with Vicky and that he had been living in the past. He sees the big picture; times change and people change. He decides to be friend with Vicky. Jim ends up passing up Nadia for Michelle, the girl who he can really relate to.

I give this film a 9/10. The comedy is just as good as the comedy in the first movie, not many sequels match the original but this did. Stifler is absolutely hilarious and not to mention the Shermanator! Besides the hilarity of it, the movie still sends a message. Times change. I think this is something that a lot of recently graduated from high school people will be able to relate to. People most often change quite a bit after being out of school and starting adult life. But this movie also shows that there is no reason why friendships can't be maintained with high school friends after school is done.

The acting is better than in the first one too. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie, there is something in it for teenagers and adults.

American Pie review

American Pie is a teen comedy from 1999. First of all, it doesn't really need to be labelled a 'teen-comedy' because there is something in it for the adults as well. Yes, it focuses mostly on teenage characters and teenage issues, but Eugene Levy plays a parent who has a habit of embarassing his son Jim. This is something that many adults can relate to!

This film is about a group of male high school seniors named Jim, Kevin, Chris and Paul who make a pact to lose their virginity before they graduate. In this pact they agree to help eachother out with anything in their attempts to have sex. This leads to many funny, sweet and embarassing moments for the teenagers. In their efforts to get laid before graduation, the guys learn some valuable life lessons; that sex isn't important, but finding the right person is.
I thought this was a great movie. It's very, very funny. Sean William Scott plays 'Stifler', the antagonist who doesn't feel awkward as the four main characters when socialising with the opposite sex. This character is absolutely hilarious and would have to be one of the funniest I have seen in a movie. He is rude, arrogant and obnoxious. But he is still likeable. Every one of his scenes had me in stitches.

The funniest scene of the movie would have to be when Jim tries to seduce Nadia in his bedroom, not knowing that his entire school is watching via webcam. When his attempt to seduce Nadia goes wrong, twice, he is left very embarassed. The acting is pretty good for the most part. The four leads were all very young when they did this movie so they did a good job.
I would definitely advise people to see this movie, you won't be dissapointed!

Movie Review: A Few Good Men (1992)

From 1992, A Few Good Men is understandably considered one of the best movies of Jack Nicholson's stellar career. The movie is about the murder trial of two of Colonel Jessop's Nicholson) marines. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise), Sam Weinberg (Kevin Pollak) and JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore) are 3 Navy lawyers who are assigned to the defence of the two young marines.

What starts out a straight forward murder trial, becomes much more complicated when a few more facts are brought to the surface. How far would you be willing to go to protect your country? This is the question that gets asked of the viewer and a quality storyline played out with a quality cast means this film gets the big tick of approval from me. The acting is simply first class in this and the scene's between Nicholson's character and Cruise's are intriguing. I think Jack Nicholson is a brilliant antagonist and he shows it in A Few Good Men.

Cruise and Nicholson both stand out in this film but the roles of supporting cast members needs to be mentioned also. Kevin Bacon, Kevin Pollak and Demi Moore are all superb in their roles aswell. One thing that I love in films is when drama and comedy are combined, and while this film is very dramatic, there are plenty of light hearted moments aswell. It really is hard to fault this movie, but I guess there are a couple of scenes which are a bit too corny. But overall I give this film a 9/10 and would recommend it to everyone. It's a must see.

Great way to beat boredom

When you are sitting at home for long periods of time it's easy to get bored. Sometimes surfing the web or reading a book just isn't enough as most people would know. I was recently on holidays, it was hot outside so I wanted to relax indoors. A great way to pass time while staying indoors is watching movies, but I had already watched all of the DVD's in my collections and couldn't be bothered going out and buying more, nor did I want to spend the money.

I came across MoviesCapital.com and I ended up downloading movies for free. After searching their extensive range of movies in all genres I found several movies that I had been meaning to see for ages but had never quite gotten around to it. Now I will never be bored again!
