American Pie review

American Pie is a teen comedy from 1999. First of all, it doesn't really need to be labelled a 'teen-comedy' because there is something in it for the adults as well. Yes, it focuses mostly on teenage characters and teenage issues, but Eugene Levy plays a parent who has a habit of embarassing his son Jim. This is something that many adults can relate to!

This film is about a group of male high school seniors named Jim, Kevin, Chris and Paul who make a pact to lose their virginity before they graduate. In this pact they agree to help eachother out with anything in their attempts to have sex. This leads to many funny, sweet and embarassing moments for the teenagers. In their efforts to get laid before graduation, the guys learn some valuable life lessons; that sex isn't important, but finding the right person is.
I thought this was a great movie. It's very, very funny. Sean William Scott plays 'Stifler', the antagonist who doesn't feel awkward as the four main characters when socialising with the opposite sex. This character is absolutely hilarious and would have to be one of the funniest I have seen in a movie. He is rude, arrogant and obnoxious. But he is still likeable. Every one of his scenes had me in stitches.

The funniest scene of the movie would have to be when Jim tries to seduce Nadia in his bedroom, not knowing that his entire school is watching via webcam. When his attempt to seduce Nadia goes wrong, twice, he is left very embarassed. The acting is pretty good for the most part. The four leads were all very young when they did this movie so they did a good job.
I would definitely advise people to see this movie, you won't be dissapointed!
